May has gone by so fast

“All the paths of the lord are lovingkindness and truth, to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.” -Psalm 25:10

Hi everyone!

Sorry i skipped a week…we were in moab this past weekend for a church camping trip. it was such a good time of fellowship with friends as well as a time to meet some new people (several people from my work came as well as some others that none of us knew well). it was a blessing to play hard all day and then sit around the campfire at night playing bongo drums and singing songs of praise to God. Good times.

We are moving this weekend. My dad is coming out to visit and to help us move. we are excited to spend the time with him and so grateful for the help!

Eric is working again at Rendezvous engineering. He worked full time at the church only for March, April and 1/2 of May, since his project was stopped at Rendezvious due to the snow. Now that is it full blown spring, the snow is melted and he will work approx. 6 more weeks at Rendezvous to finish his project. So he is working 2 full time jobs again right now.  He should be back to working full time at the church only by July sometime. I’m very thankful for how hard he works.

Baby Update: 17 weeks

This last week the baby went through a growth spurt, and boy could i tell! i was hungrier all day long this week than i ever remember being. In the next few weeks, our baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he/she is about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren’t recognizable yet. He’s even started growing toenails. And there’s a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as our baby continues to develop.

Happy Mothers’ Day

“Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all His benefits; Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.” -Ps 103:1-4

Hi everyone!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms in our life. We’re so thankful that you care for and love our neices, nephews, cousins and us. Thinking about being a new mom, i have great respect for what all of you other moms have gone through (only anticipating those things myself). We love you all, and we praise God for His great design to create mom’s.

And Baby Sealah was born! How exciting! Congratulations Nick and Alisha! Here are some pictures to mark the occasion…

We went for a hike by the Snake River the day Sealah was born. It was such a beautiful day! It felt like we were on the beach on a rainy day. We found this beautiful spot.

On a funny note…Poor David!
And we are moving! We have been trying to find a place on the Westbank of Jackson Hole (that’s where the town of Wilson and Teton Village are), and we finally found one. It’s not quite as nice as the place we have right now, but it is on the westbank, we will save a lot of money, will have more space in our yard and for parking, and will have less restrictions in general. We will move in June 1st, and we are excited. We will have a barn in our yard, and we can have a fire pit for bonfires! Plus, if anyone wants to come camp here, you can camp in our yard (or stay in our house)!

Finally, here’s the baby update for the week:
This week, our baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his/her thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he’ll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and at my next ultrasound now, we may even catch him sucking his thumb. From head to bottom, the baby measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and it weighs 1 1/2 ounces. Pretty crazy!
Also, I am feeling much better. i’m in the 2nd tri-mester and it has made a world of difference in my energy level and my experiences with food. I still feel tired, because i am still having trouble sleeping (i think mostlybecause of my back, not the baby), but it is a lot better than it was! So, this is what i look like now. i’m showing a little more.

Happy May!

Today eric and i went on the Elk Refuge to look for Elk antlers. That’s the new adventure of the week. They open up the Refuge every year, and i think it is only for 1 day that anyone can go and pick up (and take home) whatever they find. We should have brought home this:

we did not find this

we did not find this

but we didn’t find anything. i think i saw some bear scat. hmm…the bears are just waking up. I guess there was a grizzly loose on the road near wilson. she was down pretty low from the mountains. people have to be really careful about keeping their garbages sealed tight over there.

We went for a 14 mile bike ride down the Village Road on Saturday (7 ea way). it was very leisurely. i won’t be riding my bike when we go mountain biking in Moab in a couple weeks with our church. but this was mellow and good exercise. it was a good time.

Here’s a music video from one of our favorite artists right now. His name is Lacrae. There is some really incredible Christian Hip Hop that is coming out lately. Not cheesy, but really good beats and incredibly solid lyrics. take a look/listen if you like.

Baby Update: 14 weeks Here’s some info about the baby’s growth:

Fingerprints have formed on your baby’s tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you’re having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby’s critical development will be completed and your odds of miscarriage drop considerably.

At 14 weeks, the baby should look something like this:

everything is formed on me. i just need to grow!
