We went to Oregon agains in august for Marisa’s wedding (eric’s sister). It was a beautiful wedding and so nice to be able to see his family so soon after the last time! Here are some pics…

Some goings on…there is a new movie coming out Oct 8th i think. it’s called “Collision.” it’s only showing in New York and Los Angeles, but it will be on DVD at the end of October. it’s a movie that explores the question, “Is Religion Good for the World?” Leading athiest Christopher Hitchens and leading evangelical pastor Doug Wilson have been debating this question for a while, and they decided to make a movie about it. what we’re really excited about is that the movie gives no bias, just a very clear understanding of an athiestic and a Christian perspective to this question. they are both brilliant men and respect each other very much. they are extrememly civil and both are given equal opportunity to present their cases. we’re going to be hosting a showing of this film in our church for the community as a way to bring up dialogue about this subject. i put the poster introducing the movie here, as well as a 13 minute trailer of the movie. just click on the link below and view the 13 minute trailer if you’re interested.

Baby Update:  i’m in my 31st week (yikes)! here’s what the baby website has to say about the 31st week…

How your baby’s growing:

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin. She’s probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby’s kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Yes, most definately she is moving  A LOT! i am awake usually during her most active times (1-2:30 am) and literally i feel like i have an eel in my stomach. Eric can feel her moving too, which is really exciting for both of us. the Lord is gracious in giving me sleep when i need it and strength without sleep when i need it too! We are going to put a lot of her room together some time this next week. we’re really excited! i’ve been reading the bible to her, as you’re supposed to read to babies i guess (two birds with one stone :)). only 2 months to go (maybe).

we are taking a “Preparation for Birth” class at our hospital. i guess our hospital is really great here. the class is 6-weeks long and they cover a wide range of things from the details of what happens during birth to a tour of the hospital (and the birth jacuzzi 🙂 to teaching eric massage techniques to help me during the birth. i LOVE this class (for obvious reasons). it has been super helpful.

Here’s the last pregnancy video of the series…Click on 28-37 weeks. it is amazing what God has done in how He created babies to develop. it has been fun to see this and share this with you as we go along.
